Who we are?

Troop 436 operates in Hollister, California.  Troop 436 is pleased to provide two annual awards in memory of Gerald Rawn, a Scoutmaster of the troop from 1986 to 1994.  Troop 436 is the oldest charted Scout Troop in San Benito County, sponsored by the Hollister Exchange Club since 1909.

Although chartered, the troop was inactive for several years prior to 1986.  Due to Gerry?s efforts & guidance, along with others, the troop was reactivated & grew steadily.  Gerry was Scoutmaster of the troop for 8 years.  Many of the Scouts he guided have become Eagle Scouts & he influenced the lives of all the Scouts he served as well as the adults he worked with.

To honor Gerry?s commitment & spirit, this endowment has been created in his memory.
